No School - Day 1

Santa Cruz has been dealing with an outbreak of H1N1 the past couple of weeks. Finally the government decided to close all of the schools in the city for 10 days. That means Friday morning, we had 25 kids on our hands with no game plan. Any less experienced directors would have fallen back on relay races and kick-ball, but not the staff of Talita Cumi. The children spent the morning doing all of their normal Saturday chores.
Washing all their clothes and bedding – by hand.

Moping and cleaning all of the floors, inside and out.

The kitchen was emptied out and everything cleaned and scrubbed. It was a busy place and everyone knew what they had to get done and what their responsibilities where. In spite of all the chores that had to be done, there were still plenty of smiles and laughter.

  1. Your pictures are great. Can just imagine the fun those boys have planning things to surprise[?] you. Good luck keeping ahead of them. Will surely find special prayer time for them and you too. Love, Grandma
